BONNE ANNÉE!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I apologize for not writing sooner. I realized a couple nights ago that, like last year, things that happen every day for me have...well, become every day things. You all might find them extraordinary and interesting, but there's nothing special about them to me, they're normal. But I guess that makes it kind of fun doesn't it? Maybe that's my excuse for not writing in ages? And I'm studying for the GRE and applying to graduate schools- I guess that's pretty important too!
Things are going well here. Not at all the same as last year, except that Allana is here with me, thank goodness or neither of us would survive because there are even FEWER things to do here than there were in Aurillac. But Vichy is a beautiful city with lovely parks and we've met some really nice people in the climbing club.
I was back in Virginia for the Christmas holidays and it was fabulous. It was so nice to see my parents, Grace, and my grandparents Mahin. Mum, Dad, Grace and I spent a couple nights up at Snowshoe, where we had perfect weather and even more perfect snow. We ate great food, hung around in Radford on Christmas Day. I went to my friend Michael's New Year's Eve party out in Blacksburg. We had a nice open house on New Year's Day with lots of great food and wine.
We've only been back at work one week and already Allana and I are planning our next vacation! By the time February 26th comes around, the first day of our holiday, I will have finished with the GRE and all my applications will have been turned in, so the vacation will be even better!! We are going down to Andalusia, Southern Spain for about 10 days to visit her boyfriend... and we probably won't want to leave once we're there! Even though it'll be late February, early March, it'll hopefully still be somewhat warm down there.
More soon; I want to get better about updating. It's just that, as this is my second time around, things aren't necessarily as interesting and worth telling about as last year. But I'll definitely put up some pictures in the next day or two.
